San Diego Comic-Con 2026 Was Absolute Nerd Chaos... And We Loved Every Second Of It
If you've ever wanted to see 130,000+ people willingly stand in line for hours just to watch a trailer they'll probably upload online five minutes later... welcome to San Diego Comic-Con.
SDCC 2026 once again proved why it's the biggest nerd gathering on the planet. Hollywood showed up swinging, game developers came loaded with surprises, and Marvel basically reminded everyone that Hall H is still their house.
Let's get into the biggest announcements without making this sound like your high school history textbook.
Marvel Decided To Break The Internet (Again)
Marvel Studios finally returned to Hall H, and Kevin Feige wasn't there to play games.
The biggest surprise? Ryan Gosling is officially joining the MCU as Ghost Rider. Yes... THAT Ryan Gosling. No, this isn't fan casting anymore. It's happening. Shawn Levy is directing, which means expectations are already sky high.
Marvel also confirmed Black Panther 3, with Ryan Coogler returning to direct. David Jonsson will take on the mantle as T'Challa Jr., continuing Wakanda's legacy.
Fans also got exclusive footage from Avengers: Doomsday. Unfortunately, unless you were sitting inside Hall H, you're just going to have to trust everyone screaming online that it looked incredible. Doctor Doom looks terrifying, Reed Richards has his hands full, and the multiverse still refuses to calm down.
Gaming Got Some Love Too
Comic-Con isn't just about movies anymore.
Sony announced God of War: Laufey, giving players a chance to experience the story from Faye's perspective. That's a pretty interesting twist considering she's been one of the franchise's biggest mysteries.
Batman fans also got a surprise with Batman: Caped Crusader – Chronicles, a companion game expanding the animated universe. Because apparently we can never have enough Batman... and honestly, we're okay with that.
DC Wasn't Sitting On The Bench
While Marvel dominated the headlines, DC quietly reminded everyone they're still cooking.
The convention floor celebrated DC's march toward its 100th anniversary with classic comic history, exclusive merchandise, creator signings, and plenty of Batman (because of course there was Batman). Fans also got updates on upcoming projects and new gaming experiences throughout the convention.
Random Comic-Con Weirdness We Live For
Comic-Con wouldn't be Comic-Con without a few "Wait... WHAT?" moments.
